Northshore Coffee to add its first Jackson area storefront
Trey Malone and his Northshore Specialty Coffee Company are making waves in business development in the Jackson area.
The latest ripple is at the District at Eastover in Jackson, where Malone's group is opening its first storefront by January or February of 2025.
Between now and then, you can still get your coffee fix on as Northshore has a food truck on the premises Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Malone has been running Northshore Coffee for nearly two years out of a facility in Midtown Jackson that was once Lucky Town Brewing. Northshore has been a delivery service for coffee during that time. He also is working from the Midtown location on a rum distillery using locally sourced sugar cane. The BRIX building plans include a bar that features rum, rum-based cocktails and locally sourced beer. At one point, that was going to be the location for his first storefront for the Northshore. But now has been deemed the right time to venture out with its first store front. Construction has started and everything is looking promising," Northshore regional manager Brent McQuillin said. "We are very excited about it. I don't want to put an exact date on it because there are always delays, but sometime after the first of the year."
The concept of the company to this point has been to roast its own coffee and then distribute across Central Mississippi. Northshore its making improvements on its Midtown warehouse space to be able to produce and distribute even more coffee.
Northshore Specialty Coffee originally was founded in Rankin County and has been around for nearly five years. Malone bought the right to the name two years ago and has completely transformed the brand in that time. The only thing that is the same as it was, Malone said, is the name.
…
Northshore has also been selling wholesale to local coffee shops for some time now.
However, the space in the District at Eastover will be the first solo store front for Northshore Coffee.
